Brett Adlington (Lismore Regional Gallery) and Julian Louis (NORPA) launch the event and exhibition
ART OVER APATHY: ART AND A BETTER WORLD :: AUDITORIUM
2.00 – 3.00pm A panel of artists and writers discuss the power of art to create political and social change. Panel: Deborah Kelly, David Williams, Leonie Lane and S Sorrensen.
INTERMISSION :: BAR OPEN
3.00 – 3.30pm Northern Rivers Conservatorium Youth Jazz Orchestra play adaptations of songs that challenge how things stand, both politically and personally.
DREAMER :: AUDITORIUM
Time: 4.00 – 5.00pm NORPA’s new theatre work Dreamer starts with Julian Louis asking 4 prolific local writers Jim Hearn, Melissa Lucashenko, Mandy Nolan and S Sorrensen to create short stories about a dreamer. These stories will form part of the research and development for a new theatre work.

ARTFUL ACTIONS EXHIBITION AT LISMORE CITY HALL

Stemming from Lismore Regional Gallery’s current exhibition, Protest Songs: Artful Actions, this ancillary project will feature works from Aris Prabawa, Peter Gentur, Redback Graphix posters from the 1980s and Tim Hixson works from Lismore Regional Gallery’s permanent collection, originally commissioned for the 2013 exhibition, Not Quite Square: the story of Northern Rivers architecture.
