Artist Talk Andrew Rewald "Plant Treaty"
24 September
10.30am Saturday
Plant Treaty continues to flourish and will be in the Quad until October 2022. Join Andrew Rewald for an artist talk on Saturday 24 September at 10:30am in the Quad in front of the Gallery. Rewald will share his ongoing research and work, linking Ethnobotany to Eco-reparation, highlighting food-plant-people relationships and the migrations of people, agriculture, foraging and cookery practices. Plant Treaty is an interactive space to consider the environmental, historical and cultural significance of both native and introduced plants in eco-reparation, agriculture, foraging and fermentation practices. Surrounding the garden are artworks from the Ethnobotanicals series–plants foraged, cultivated, cooked or fermented during community engagement projects between Australia and the artist's ancestral homeland of Germany.
