GUEST ARTIST @ Collage Club this month...Chris Lego!
15 September
Thursday 3-5pm
Join our first guest artist Chris Lego at Collage Club on Thursday, 15 September. Lego has been making collages for more than two decades. He has a strong background in publishing and self-publishing media in many formats, including professional screenprinting, and has made hundreds of different t-shirts and patch designs. Recently, Lego has been making small collages and assemblage badges from recycled toys and found images from the 1970s and 80s, and producing flyers for different bands and gigs in the Lismore community. At Collage Club, Lego will share how to make small collages on recycled and upcycled badges for people to wear straight away, including putting text on them with an old-fashioned 1970s typewriter, with no electricity! He will explain in a really fun way how cute and effective it is to have a few different contrasting pictures pushed together in collage form and added straight away to a badge, making an instant piece of wearable art.
Collage Club is facilitated by artist Claudie Frock and supported by Creative First Aid and the Lismore Quadrangle. This project is assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
