Not Quite Square: the story of Northern Rivers architecture
Innovation & creation reigns at the 2013 IMAGinE Awards. Highlighting and acknowledging excellence and innovation, these awards offer a great guide to some of State’s most inspiring institutions and collections for the public Museums & Galleries NSW, Regional & Public Galleries of NSW and Museums Australia (NSW) announced the winners for this year’s IMAGinE Awards at the Rugby League Museum, Moore Park on Friday November 8.
Lismore Regional Gallery’s project, Not Quite Square: the story of Northern Rivers architecture was named Highly Commended in the Exhibition category for organisations between 3-20 staff.
Established in 2008 the IMAGinE Awards celebrate the achievements and extraordinary diversity of the NSW museum and gallery sector and those who work within it, both paid and volunteer staff. Comprising of 495 organisations and over 8000 paid and volunteer workers, these galleries and museums also provide major contributions to their local communities, economies and cultural life as well as playing an important role in tourism across urban and regional NSW.
Michael Rolfe, Museums & Galleries NSW CEO, said, “It is great to see NSW museums and galleries continuously lifting the quality and standards of our sector, especially the continued engagement with their communities and audiences. With over 60 nominations across the four categories, excellence and innovation in collection management, exhibitions, public programs and individual achievement are highlighted”.
