About SCRAPS
Magandjin/Brisbane “dehydrated disco” producer Laura Hill draws from a persuasive mood-board of 80’s hairdresser magazines bleaching in the desert, cubist synth-pop, and disaster fascination. Her synthesis of raw rhythms, sequencer intuition, and echo-soaked storytelling, hone and decay, heat-waving between low-lidded new wave, woozy acid ballads, and alienated karaoke. Keep it steady, come into the world of SCRAPS.
About Tralala Blip
Over the past decade, Tralala Blip have carved out a unique position in the Australian electronic music community. Working to overcome a range of challenges imposed by their disabilities, they have created a plethora of approaches to instruments, performance, and composition that allow them to seamlessly create music together. Beyond their extensive performance commitments, they have presented their work as special guests of TEDx, have had a stage production created about them (My Radio Heart), collaborated with Back To Back Theatre on their Radial series and have instigated many workshops for other neurodiverse artists. Celebrated internationally for their relentless pursuit of a level playing field in music creation, they have been fortunate to be supported by festivals such as Unsound Krakow, Dark Mofo Tasmania, The NowNow and Soft Centre Sydney, Illuminate Adelaide and arts facilities such as ZKM Karlsruhe and ART|JOG Yogyakarta.
About Alako
Alako's latest release is 2021's Arch EP, released in Italy and across Europe via Nottempo Records. The record was praised by Igloo magazine as "thoughtful and thought-provoking [...] nothing is overdone on this debut, instead, an equilibrium is found between frenetic noodling and subtle shifts". More recently, aside from working on his main project - psych-rock band Liminal - Alako has released under other names, and performed live electronic sets incorporating analog hardware.
