GUEST ARTIST @ COLLAGE CLUB THIS MONTH IS HILDA WANG
Thursday November 17, 2022
4pm - 6pm
This month at Collage Club we welcome Hilda Wang as our GUEST ARTIST for November!Born in Beihai, China, and moved to Australia in 2002, Hilda Wang completed her Bachelor of Art and Design at Southern Cross University in 2022. Influenced heavily by Western and Japanese pop culture, Hilda developed her own style of drawing. She has a strong fascination with nature and the physical world, and the exploration of its microscopic dimensions informs her practice. Now, working as a disability support worker, she shares her skills and aims to bring joy to others by facilitating a Pop Culture program at work.
In this week's Collage Club we will explore the creation of artists’ books. A book is more than a group of words. A book is a place; an experience; an object. The main focus of this session will be accordion books with multiple layers. A book does not have to always be written text, it can tell a story using silhouettes and shapes, and the message can be hidden under the layers. A book is easy to make, the only tools needed are cutters and glue!
*A free program, open to all ages and community.
*A wheelchair accessible event.
*Please let us know if you require an Auslan interpreter for this event. Txt: 0432 400 753
