The Terania Creek Protest
Floor talk: Michael Murphy and David Kemp
11.00am Thurs 21 Feb 2019
Hear from Michael Murphy and David Kemp and their experience of the Terania Creek Protest. Michael Murphy had a central involvement in the Protest directly lobbying government as a member of the Terania Native Forest Action Group (TNFAG). His training as an architect enabled him to produce topographical maps and a Rainforest Transect, identifying species in the rainforest to argue the environmental importance of the Terania site.
David Kemp took the majority of the photographs in the Terania Creek Protest exhibition. David was recently arrived in this area and captivated by the beauty of the Terania forest, but appalled at the possibility of it being lost. His photographs, and the others in this exhibition, are among the few surviving images from this historical event.
