The Department of Non-Human Resources :: Make or Break
1 Apr – 6 Jun 2021
Gallery 3
This project subjects the gallery to a collective rethinking, examining its relationship to consumption, waste, knowledge-production, cycles of nature and community. Make or Break invites speculation, thinking together, research, conversation and hands-on making to dig into questions of sustainability and sustainment as we face an uncertain future. The exhibition space will change and adapt as the artists work on a series of storytelling and prototyping activities with local people who are working, living and experimenting in related ways.Make or Break is a collaboration between artists Connie Anthes and Rebecca Gallo, who live and work on Gadigal, Bidjigal and Burramattagal lands in inner-city and western Sydney. They will be spending time and facilitating actions here on Bundjalung land during the exhibition.
