5.30 - 6.30pm
Fri 3 Aug 2018 in Gallery 1
Writer, actor and director, Ailsa Piper, brings to life her 1,300km walk through Spain, which formed the basis of her acclaimed travel memoir Sinning Across Spain.
In the course of an hour, she brings to life her 1300km walk from Granada in Andalucia to Finisterre in the northernmost corner of Spain; the “sinners” who confessed to her before she walked; the rogues and angels she encountered on the road: and the poetry that sustained her as she plodded.
Ailsa also honours the memory of her husband Peter Curtin, her “true north,” taking herself back onto the road through France in a “mourning walk,” and reveals how her journeying has supported her through grief.
