Colleen Coy's Films :: '2020 Each Week'
10 Mar to 21 March 2021
Event Space
Local filmmaker, dancer, choreographer and Screendance artist Colleen Coy. Colleen Coy created her series of 52 one-minute experimental films, one for each week of the year. The series forms a video diary that chronicles Colleen's creative year during 2020.
"I am a dancer and these videos reflect my perspectives on Screendance, movement, rhythm, colour, texture, sound, light, and nature. The discipline of regular practice required that I confront my sense of imperfection, unfamiliarity with the medium, and apprehensions about sharing my work publicly. 2020 Each Week stimulated my senses and perceptions, once again reminding me that "it’s not what you see, but how you see.”"
