Southern Cross University Curatorial Lab
Still Life: Varying Domesticities :: Miriam Salomon
12 September – 24 October 2015
24:7 Front Window Space
This object-based installation by the peripatetic artist Miriam Salomon comprises plastic domestic objects from the late-1960s and early-‘70s, alongside sand-blasted tins collected from second-hand stores in Lismore. Born in Uruguay and having lived in England, Spain, and Japan, Salomon’s work draws from diverse modes of cultural display, finding poetic resonance in discarded objects from bygone eras.
This exhibition is a project of the Southern Cross University Curatorial Lab, overseen by Dr. Wes Hill.
