Sitting somewhere between Caroline Polachek, Cat Power, Weyes Blood, Feist, and Aldous Harding. Merryn Jeann’s sound is fuelled by authenticity. Her debut album Dog Beach produced by Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey, Anna Calvi, Marianne Faithfull) was released in 2024 with worldwide acclaim. KEXP musical director sharing 'Merryn Jeann is all-consuming. Her unique brand of art-pop with elements of jazz and folk, paired with her rich vocals and clever lyricism is positively spellbinding. Dog Beach is an impressive first outing from an artist with a singular point of view that leaves the listener begging for more'.
About Johnny T
Johnny T is a live performance where machines, loops, and human energy collide. For months, Johnny T searched for the perfect tool to perform solo. Watching videos of the AdrenaLinn pedal, he became obsessed with its possibilities, its beats and effects quickly became the brain of the show. The pedal proposes; Johnny T responds, triggering every loop, every tension, every experience. Built around loops, fuzz, and layered textures, the performance moves between tension and release, control and chaos, reflecting the artist’s adrenalinic attitude, energy, and shifting mood, creating an experience that is hypnotic, visceral, and unpredictable.
About M.E. Baird with Leroy Who, performing Baird’s latest release, ‘Spinning Man’
M.E. Baird (Matthew Ede Baird) is a remarkable and somewhat mysterious talent. He is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and musician with a three-decade career, as well as a visual artist and arts academic. From his deep, lamenting voice and beguiling songs to his thought-provoking artwork, M.E. Baird is an artist in every sense. Spinning Man, is a six-track mini-album inspired by the poetry of Dylan Thomas and Anne Sexton. The album was channelled during a self-imposed isolation, due to a cancer diagnosis and treatment, and the impact of COVID. Upon its release, Spinning Man received immediate critical acclaim for its distinctive songwriting and quiet intensity. One critic has described it as 'falling backwards into a never-ending narcotic dream'.
