We believe in the benefits of accessible programming for everyone and regularly offer free, inclusive programs catering to diverse access needs.
These programs include Collage Club, Deaf-led Auslan exhibition tours, and our new program NOISY HOUR.
On Friday afternoons from 2 – 4pm, we have Low Sensory hours. During this time, the lighting and sound are reduced (by approximately 25 %). This provides a more comfortable and accessible environment for individuals who may be sensitive to the sensory stimuli present in a typical gallery setting.
We have a Sensory Toolkit available at reception that visitors can borrow for use during their visit. This includes noise-cancelling headphones and sensory toys.
If you are visiting the exhibitions or attending a program, you may wish to take a look at our Autism-friendly Visual Story. Visual stories are written in an accessible format and are used to prepare a person for a new environment or situation by increasing predictability. This helps bring familiarity to a process, reducing anxiety and stress.

Our exhibition openings and most programs are Auslan-interpreted, and our priority is to ensure that all our events are wheelchair-accessible. In some instances, Auslan interpretation bookings may require 3 business days' notice. Lismore Regional Gallery is wheelchair-accessible, and there are two accessible toilets available. One near reception, and one adjacent to the Cafe.
