Koori Mail Indigenous Art Award

Lismore Regional Gallery acknowledges the people of the Bundjalung nation, traditional custodians of the land on which we work.

The Koori Mail Indigenous Art Award 2021 is a new art prize for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. The Award encourages entries from established, mid-career and emerging Indigenous artists from across the country working in any medium. It is a non-acquisitive award that is free to enter. It will take place at Lismore Regional Gallery from 4 December 2021 until 30 January 2022.

KEY DATES
Entries close:  Midnight Friday 24 September 2021
Confirmation of entry received by automated email with submission number generated within minutes of online entry form being successfully submitted. 
Selection Panel shortlisting: 11 -15 October 2021
Finalist artists informed of selection by: Friday 5 November 2021


FINALIST ARTWORKS
Original artworks delivered to Lismore Regional Gallery: 
Wednesday 17 - Thursday 25 November 2021 (during opening hours)
Opening ceremony and winner announcement: Saturday 4 December 2021, 2pm - 4pm
Exhibition: 4 December 2021 - 30 January 2022
Artwork collected from Lismore Regional Gallery:  Wednesday 2 February - Tuesday 8 February 2021 (during opening hours)

PRIZES
The Koori Mail Indigenous Art Award    $10,000
Bundjalung Art Award    $2,500
Open to Bundjalung artists and/or artists working on Bundjalung country
Innovation Art Award    $2,500
Open to Indigenous artists living in Bundjalung, Yaegl and Githabul country
Youth Art Award    $500
Open to artists from 12 to 24 years of age
