Koori Mail Indigenous Art Award
Entries open: 14 June - 15 September

The Koori Mail Indigenous Art Award 2024 is a new art prize for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, first launched at Lismore Regional Gallery in 2021. Established, mid-career, and emerging Indigenous artists working in any medium are encouraged to enter the prize.
 
This is a non-acquisitive award that is free to enter. Shortlisted artworks will be included in the exhibition at Lismore Regional Gallery from 30 November 2024 to 2 February 2025.

ABOUT THE GUEST JUDGE
Rebecca Ray is a Meriam woman descended from the Torres Strait Islands and an experienced First Nations curator, writer, and cultural heritage researcher. She has extensive curatorial experience working across grassroots communities, remote art centres, universities, and galleries at regional and national levels. Rebecca is currently Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Collections and Exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney. 

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts (History and Sociology) from Griffith University, Queensland and has a research background in decolonisation, identity politics and intersectionality. She is passionate about re-Indigenisation and the reclamation of autonomous and sovereign spaces, with an interest in global First Nations relationality and solidarity that inform curatorial and research methodologies.?
