For the month of June the ABC Open monthly photography challenge 'Snapped' has chosen FACES - big and bold as its theme. ABC Open North Coast and the Lismore Lantern Parade will project the FACES captured by local photographers onto two buildings in the CBD as well as during the finale at the 2013

This installation made up of the dodecahedron, a 12-sided geometric form explored by many scientists and artists over the centuries because of its beautiful symmetry. Beasley uses multi-coloured dodecahedrons, hanging them to form a grid, and cultivating an incredible visual effect.

Survivor is a major art project by contemporary Indonesian-Australian artist Dadang Christanto. Initially developed in 2008 as a live protest against an environmental disaster that occurred in East Java which saw hot volcanic mud wipe out 11 villages and destroy many lives, Survivor has since transgressed beyond cultural borders, evolving into a universal, multi-faceted reflection upon human survival and what it means to endure tragic historical events, loss and death.

In the Heart is a celebration of the daily maps created by foot traffic throughout the main streets of Lismore, maps that are marked by the laughter, fear and worry of those who live in or visit the area. The work reflects upon feelings of emptiness and vacancy, concentrating on the vulnerability of the man-made environment once it reaches its use by date, a stage where it is no longer something to be valued and admired.
