Volunteering is a fantastic way to contribute to the gallery, network and gain professional experience in a supportive environment. It allows art enthusiasts and community members to work closely with gallery staff and help create a welcoming atmosphere for our visitors.
As a volunteer, you would commit to three hours of welcoming visitors at the gallery reception, monitoring the exhibition spaces as needed, and occasionally assisting with public programs. No specific qualifications are required, just a passion for art and a willingness to learn.
Volunteering at the gallery is not just about the work—it is about the community. It's a chance to interact with curators, artists, other art enthusiasts, and our gallery team and gain a deeper understanding of how the gallery operates. It's a place where you can belong and make a difference.
Volunteering provides personal and professional growth. Our volunteers can participate in curatorial tours of new exhibitions, where they can learn how to speak about the work. They can also network with our staff and other volunteers through social events and attend our annual professional practice and development workshop. Additionally, there is the exciting possibility of applying for public programming and curation internships.
