The Huxleys are a celebrated Melbourne-based duo that presents camp spectacle and disco-enthused wizardry across the visual art, performance, and entertainment worlds. Their skill in costume design, performance, and photography celebrates the rebellious and colourful spirit of queer excellence.
This exhibition includes recent video and photographic work by the Huxleys, offering magic and escapism while growing out of the more serious ideals of honouring the history and legacy of queer identity.
Bloodlines is a loving tribute to those many queer voices silenced by the HIV/AIDS epidemic of the 1980s and 1990s. This moving work evokes the creative spirit of these lost pioneers of queer art and culture. It celebrates queer history with as much love and as many sequins as possible.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas removes Australian Christmas from its Northern Hemisphere trappings to create a particularly Australian spectacle. The work celebrates the glory and beauty of Australian flora and fauna bringing joy, humour and queer love to the city in which it is performed. The costumes embody glamour and androgynous freedom as they bring escapism and magic to Christmas.

Since 2014, The Huxleys have performed and exhibited in exhibitions, projects, and events in Australia and internationally in London, Berlin, Moscow, and Hong Kong. Solo presentations, performances, and commissions include the Melbourne International Arts Festival, Melbourne Fashion Week, Sydney Contemporary, Hong Kong Design Week, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Melbourne, Art Bank, Melbourne, Australian State Galleries, and the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra.
Their photographs are included in the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra; HOTA, Gold Coast; The Besen Foundation, Melbourne; and the Pictures Collection at the State Library of Victoria.
