An installation of artwork honouring the memory of much loved local artist, Mick Parr, who passed away in 2018. For Mick, life and art were not separated. Art was in every aspect of his being. His work is imbued with the integrity of his found materials, things he discovered in his surroundings and arranged with companions - drawings, bones, shells, piano keys and an array of other materials. Mick’s work conveys the beauty and complexity of life, the depth of which is often rushed passed and overlooked. Mick lived with severe progressive scoliosis of the spine but he was never defined by this condition. He danced with his wheelchair in Company Chaos, and travelled overseas on a Churchill Fellowship to explore integrative dance options for people with varied physical abilities. He built his own home on the Tuntable Falls community, where he and his family developed a strong sense of community. Mick Parr embraced life and lived it boldly and generously. He lived art.
