This exhibition consists of recent paintings by Jonathan Crowther focussing on the idea of narrative and the unfolding of our individual personal stories.
Through two related series of works featuring inanimate objects, a chair and a sheet of paper, Crowther explores the complexity of human psychology and how we negotiate the seen and the unseen aspects our lives.
In Crowther’s work, the suspense around those aspects of our lives which cannot be fully grasped or controlled are made all the more poignant by his subtle symbolism and striking realism.
