Clare Milledge: Complex notophyll vine forest: ground-proof
28 November 2025 – 15 March 2026

Complex notophyll vine forest: ground-proof is Clare Milledge’s first solo exhibition in Bundjalung/Northern NSW and shares her career from 2008 to the present. Sited in the region she grew up in, the exhibition will spread across three large galleries connected by walkways, creating a maze-like journey for audiences.

Clare has developed a unique visual language through her practice that acts as a tool to encourage audiences to read our ever-changing environment in new and mystical ways. Her artwork facilitates a collapse of the psychological distance between humans and their environments through abstract and figurative compositions that are elastic across the ‘real’ and the spiritual; a reimagining of hybrid forms.

This exhibition will be accompanied by a publication thanks to the generous support of the Gordon Darling Foundation.
