Sonka Pietrek (SCU Graduate): Memory of motion
5 December 2025 – 1 February 2026

Forms don’t stay still. This work follows form changes through time, movement, and altered viewpoints, capturing fragments between recognition and abstraction.

Drawing from organic and anatomical structures, it explores how perception shifts when the familiar is broken apart and reassembled at a different scale. The work moves between digital and analogue processes, beginning with the non-destructive practicality of digital tools, which allow for a freedom of experimentation and modification of imagery. Some of these become printed tiled artworks or take shape through other print techniques.

Shifting between these modes of making mirrors the subject itself – a focus on how things evolve, how memory settles into surfaces, and how transformation reveals itself not through sharp definitions, but in moments of stillness.
