Flood Update

Thank you to all the messages of support from friends and colleagues locally, and further away.

As was to be expected from this major event, we have been affected by these floods.

The gallery team, and some wonderful people who dropped everything to help, packed up the old gallery Thursday afternoon. There was little warning, but artworks were stored safely upstairs. As we had 1.2 metres of water through, there were significant equipment losses, but nothing that cannot be replaced.

The new gallery was also affected, and while the downstairs would have been more affected than the old gallery, our new gallery and permanent collection spaces remained safe.

Our thoughts are with residents and businesses who have been affected by this serious event.

I do know that many are dealing with your own battles, so please know you are in our minds, and I trust you get through this difficult time.

We've been supporting a few causes in regards to the recent floods.

Firstly, a crowd funding initiative to support artists who've lost everything.

Secondly is the 'Recover' site to provide on the ground assistance (link for this on our Insta account).

Next is a drive to donate art materials to affected artists. Drop off is at Armistead's Framing in Wyrallah Rd, Lismore.

And lastly a general fundraising campaign to support the community at large, including small business.
